The Disaster Survivor Network grew out of The Old Fire Recovery Group which is a team of survivors from the Old Fire (aka the Old Waterman Canyon Fire). About a month after the fire a group of survivors started meeting weekly when fire survivors from several other fires (including CARe, Inc)came and spoke to our community at the Calvary Baptist Church (more about our meetings on the Old Fire Recovery Group's website). About 9 months after the fire, we officially organized as the Old Fire Recovery Group as a project of Community Partners . Our 2 year anniversary event was our last official event. Not long after that, we redesigned the OFRG's website and created this website to include a broader scope and can be used as resource for other disaster survivors.
